    Overloud's DOPAMINE models a particular kind of enhancer used in early forms ofmagnetic tape noise reduction. In the original units the tape was encoded by dynamicallybrightening the signal then, while playing back, the tape was decoded by filtering theextra brightness and, consequently, reducing the tape hiss.The audio engineers realized that the tape encoding process had a desirable effect onmany kinds of audio so they started to use this process in parallel with the original tracksto add liveliness. DOPAMINE replicates this process.
